What is a Salon

 

A Salon is a gathering of people for an exchange of ideas.  It was invented in Italy in the 16th century and flourished in France in the 17th and 18th centuries. 

 

The word salon also refers to art exhibition.  One of the most famous salon in art history is the Paris Salon, one of the biggest art event from 1748-1890. 

 

What is Art Salon SG

 

Art Salon SG is a gathering of people in Singapore for an exchange of ideas in visual arts.  We hope to create a vibrant community where art collectors can interact with local artists and other art lovers in Singapore.

 

As connections are built and relationships are formed, we envisage Art Salon SG to be an organic marketplace where art collectors can deal directly with local artists or other art collectors. 

 

How does it work

 

Art Salon SG will be a physical gathering held on the last Thursday evening of every month. 

 

Every gathering will feature a keynote topic and keynote speaker related to visual arts in Singapore.  

 

It is a by-invite event, only for art collectors and artists.
