Thian Hock Keng Temple is a temple built for the worship of Mazu. It is located on Telok Ayer Street in Singapore.
In this painting, the dark colours of the interiors of the temple draws our attention. We cannot see what is inside, except for the red-orange pillars that seem to be inviting us to walk deeper into the temple. The temple maybe built in 1839, but it looks refreshing modern in this interpretation.
