Thanks to his alumni, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, he stayed for five months in Paris in 2001 as part of a residency program.
It was everything he could ask for: a studio to sleep and paint, unlimited and priority access to museums to learn from the Masters, a place in the city centre where he could just walk and immerse himself in life in Paris.
