The museum pass was one of the best things he was given as part of the residency in Paris.  It allowed for unlimited entries to museums in Paris without queuing.  And this was very important to him.

He finally the chance to see paintings by the Masters in person.  It was an eye opener to be able sit in front of a Rembrandt, which he had only seen in books.  He could now carefully observe the brushstrokes, study the colours and absorb the Masters' works in their entirety.

He spent hours in the museums in Paris, sometimes hours just looking at one painting, thinking, analysing, and improvising his own techniques with what he is seeing.

Canal St Martin is a long canal in Paris that connects to the River Seine.
